I have been in the NYC Public School system for over 20 years. I am an Earth Science High School teacher and prepare my students for the Earth Science Regents at the end of the school year.
My Earth Science is an exciting course designed to help the student get a sense of the world beyond his/her home, classroom, neighborhood and even city. The students in my class are introduced to a detailed look at our planet, the various principles that shape it, how humans interact with it, and how it interacts with us. Working with me (the teacher) and each other, Students investigate different aims throughout the semester. My job is to initiate and monitor a key question or aim. The students job will be to follow through and come up with answers or even more questions to these particular aims. We are a small community in the school building, but if we look at the bigger picture, we are a speck of dust in our immense universe. Let us begin in the classroom and work our way up to learn about our Planet Earth!!!
I received a full 4 scholarship at the Teachers Academy in the City University of New York.
In addition to working in the NYC Public School System, I grew up attending K-12 school only in the city. I also graduated with a BS degree in Geology and Adolescent Education. I am not currently working to get my masters in ESL.
