TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My wife and I are a teaching team. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education with 10 plus years of teaching experience. She has worked as a mentor for teacher candidates in a laboratory school at our local university and is currently teaching kindergarten and tutoring. I am an artist who discovered my love of teaching about 5 years ago. I currently have the privilege of teaching artists from ages 3-18, and the school settings I work in are as varied as the ages. I lead an after school art program at a public school in my city Monday-Wednesday. Three days a week I work as a tutor for homeschool students, and I end each week by teaching art in a private preschool.

MY TEACHING STYLE

In the words of Picasso, "I believe that every child is an artist".

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

One of my figurative pieces was recently selected for the 56th Annual Delta Art Exhibition. My wife has been recognized as an "irreplaceable" for having evaluation scores in the top 5% of her district.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

We both received our bachelor's degrees from the University of Memphis, so when our powers combine we have an art degree and an early childhood degree.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

My wife and I have been married for a little over 11 years, and we have 3 amazing boys!
