TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I teach early childhood special education, and am now in my seventh year. I teach at a public elementary school that also has a Pre-K For All program. We practice inclusion while delivering individualized instruction to our students as written in their ieps.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love using music in the classroom as a means of instruction and inclusion, as well as to help develop social and communication developmental domains. I use a lot of visual supports, many of which I create myself, and am sharing here on TpT.

Achieved tenure, recommended to become Nationally Board Certified.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I earned my masters in early childhood education from St. Xavier University in Chicago in 2007 following the research I conducted on music and language development. I served as a member of the Higher Learning Commission: Criterion One: Mission and Integrity committee in preparation for the university's accreditation.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I earned a bachelor of forest science degree, worked in the national forests of the Pacific Northwest for years, and studied art and dance in a university mountain town. I believe in making time for the things that I love the most, including music, art, teaching and the outdoors.
