Eddie McPherson currently serves as Program Administrator for Atlanta Public Schools. He taught middle school and high school theatre for ten years and loved passing his passion of the creative life on to his students who were encouraged to imagine and write their own scenes and plays, staging them for audiences. Eddie has written sketch reviews, dinner-theatre shows, children’s plays, one-act competition pieces and full-length theatre productions. He earned his undergraduate degree in Broadcast Writing, a Master’s in English Literature, and a Specialist in Leadership. Eddie’s drama students have gone on to win first place in one-act play competitions, best actor awards, all-star cast awards, and attend acting schools in Chicago, New York and California. He credits his talented students through the years for aiding him in developing his scripts for publication through staged readings and extensive workshop productions. “Once a student gets the theater bug under his skin, there’s no turning back.” Eddie works with some of the county’s top publishers to develop scripts for the educational, community theatre, and religious markets. Many of his plays have become best-sellers. Eddie lives in Atlanta, Georgia and writes in his favorite coffee house in the heart of the city, but also loves escaping to the mountains just a couple of hours away to create in the quietness of a rustic cabin or his dad’s sunroom in the house he grew up in.
