I have taught prekindergarten, kindergarten, second, and now fifth grade. I loved the little ones, but I must say I like teaching math the majority of the day and coming up with new strategies and ideas for my fifth graders! It is truly a joy! I also have a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction and am currently in a Doctoral program for C&I.
Paper and pencil worksheets are boring to me! I like to focus on the four learning styles of Mastery, Understanding, Self-Expressive, and Interpersonal. We have many types of learners within the walls of our room and not everybody learns the same! I want my kiddos to feel at home and enjoy coming to school everyday. Even though they are in fifth grade, we can still have lots of fun!! My activities give a lot of choice and take into consideration Bloom's Taxonomy.
