Whether you have a big final or a unit test, you can use this 100-question final to help create your next text. The questions are written by my wife, so there is likely little or no overlap to multiple-choice tests I've written on the same subjects

It's not an essay test. It's not fill in the blank. It's not exactly short answer. But it's more than just discussion questions. It was my first year of teaching. I wanted students to think without having to assign full-blown essays, so I came up

While the Pride and Prejudice Pro Pack is great, it does not focus on ACT-style quizzes for each chapter. Since this is a novel that I love and want others to continue to teach, I will begin the process of writing ACT tests for each chapter, and

I knew when I was put in charge of creating a Film and Novel class that I would have a hard time discussing the movies with students if they didn't understand what I was looking for or what I wanted to teach them. I decided to make a list of words

Even if you don't teach a film or film and literature class, this is a cool assignment because students will learn how to talk more intelligently about films. However, if you do teach a film class or are trying to get the powers that be to approve

While it might be a sin to kill a mockingbird, it's the opposite to be able to kill two birds with one stone: practice the ACT AND give a reading quiz. That's what this assignment does. You get a 10-question, ACT-style reading quiz on Harper Lee's

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Twelve years teaching in a suburban district near Milwaukee.
Check out my own creative writing here My wife taught four years, as well. She taught more of the Advanced classes and less of the creative ones.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Use of technology in the classroom when useful. Taught several classes completely online. Emphasis on Cultural Literacy and background knowledge in order to understand literature and how to write, but also to connect with other classes. My wife was the typical martyr teacher who planned until 7pm on a Friday for the next week. Her lessons are organized and usable out of the box, whereas a teacher might have to step outside the box to see how cool my lessons can be.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My honor was to have students published in my creative writing classes, students who otherwise disliked school or English class to succeed, and for students to tell me today that they remember lessons from over a decade ago. Many of the honors and awards from my past will do little to shape my future, but the fact that people like you are purchasing and using some of these lessons that took me hours upon hours of my own time to create is a great honor. Some of these units were important in the lives of students I was able to reach, and there's magic in a few of the assignments. I just hope that these downloads being here for you can make your life a little easier.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

ME-- *French Immersion School - Milwaukee Public Schools ---*UW-Milwaukee - English Major, French Minor, Urban Planning Certificate ---*UW-Eau Claire - Teaching certification in MAT program WIFE -- Brookfield Academy ---UW-Eau Claire - Journalism ---Carroll College - English Teaching Cert.
