I have a wide range of teaching experience, starting from toddler age all the way to adult education with experience of teaching those with special needs. I have two beautiful children very close in age at home, Nahla and Austin aged 1 and 2. I love teaching them new things, preparing them for their education and exploring the big wide world. I love thinking of new ideas or fun ways they can learn and enjoy it at the same time. I've worked in grades 1 to 3 teaching them a bit of everything including English, Maths, Science and French. I also volunteer in helping adults learn to read and understand texts, a gift that we often take fore granted and forget that there are some out there unable to do so. There is no better feeling than the achievement you get from helping someone else read and opening their eyes to a whole new world and future. Several years ago my nephew was diagnosed with severe Autism. I started venturing in the world of teaching to him which progressed on to experience in teaching other students with special needs and exploring ways to do this effectively.
My philosophy is that anybody has the ability to learn, just not everybody has the ability to learn in the same way. I believe in visual, engaging and encouraging teaching. Methods that are more than just "out of a text book" methods that get students looking forward to your next lesson.
