TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I'm a third grade teacher with six fabulous years teaching fifth grade! I specialize in reading, language arts, and US geography/history. I also have experience teaching fifth grade science.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that laughter is the best way to learn! I also believe in educating the "whole child"...understanding students' social, emotional, and even physical needs is paramount to my success as an educator. My class is student centered and utilizes active engagement strategies. I believe wholeheartedly that students should construct their own knowledge (Constructivism! Growth mindset!). I take what we as educators do seriously....but I certainly don't take myself too seriously!
