Teaching is my third career, and I love it! I've taught ESL in Japan, Preschool, K-5 as a Science Special, 4-5 Gifted & Talented Math, 5th grade Core Knowledge, and 2nd grade Core Knowledge. I've been the school's GT Site Coordinator, and am currently a Student Council Director. I've also developed training programs in the restaurant industry.
I currently teach in a "direct instruction" school, but I like to use "Think-Pair-Shares," small group work, kinesthetic activities, and brain breaks to break up the lectures. My classroom management is based on the "Love and Logic" program, and it works because I prioritize my relationships with my students and their parents
2011: Awarded the Poudre School District SPIE Grant $3905 to build a Science Lab at my school; ○ 2013: Graduated 4.0 GPA University of Northern Colorado Master's of Arts in Teaching

I've been joyfully married to my best friend for 17 years! We have two daughters and live in the mountains of Colorado. I'm always striving to balance the demands of teaching with being a mother and wife. My prior careers in business and hospitality bring a rich variety of life experiences to my classroom. I love helping other teachers and building community at my school.
