Hello, I'm Kate! I am an elementary school counselor at a Title I school in Northwest Ohio. I also enjoy helping other counselors with technology, organization, and program planning. In addition to being a school counselor, I also work part-time as a children's therapist at a private practice. I am passionate about using play therapy techniques and solution-focused counseling to help children explore their problems in a non-threatening manner. As a dually licensed counselor, I understand the importance of working with schools and families to develop a supportive, team approach. I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a dual master's degree in School Counseling and Community Counseling. Before I became a school counselor, I spent eight years as a classroom teacher. I loved teaching, but quickly found that my true passion was meeting the social-emotional needs of my students. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions at: email@example.com
I create engaging, hands-on lessons that incorporate various learning styles, technology, and strategies to enhance social-emotional learning.
As a teacher, I served as grade level chair and also participated in many district committees. I have received three Education Association Grants, as well as two DonorsChoose Grants. I enjoy mentoring new teachers and helping other teachers with technology. I have also had the privilege of teaching internationally in El Salvador and Ghana.
BS in Early Childhood Education, MA in Counseling, Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed School Counselor
