TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hello, I'm Kate! I am an elementary school counselor at a Title I school in Northwest Ohio. I also enjoy helping other counselors with technology, organization, and program planning. In addition to being a school counselor, I also work part-time as a children's therapist at a private practice. I am passionate about using play therapy techniques and solution-focused counseling to help children explore their problems in a non-threatening manner. As a dually licensed counselor, I understand the importance of working with schools and families to develop a supportive, team approach. I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a dual master's degree in School Counseling and Community Counseling. Before I became a school counselor, I spent eight years as a classroom teacher. I loved teaching, but quickly found that my true passion was meeting the social-emotional needs of my students. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions at: edukate.inspire@gmail.com

MY TEACHING STYLE

I create engaging, hands-on lessons that incorporate various learning styles, technology, and strategies to enhance social-emotional learning.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

As a teacher, I served as grade level chair and also participated in many district committees. I have received three Education Association Grants, as well as two DonorsChoose Grants. I enjoy mentoring new teachers and helping other teachers with technology. I have also had the privilege of teaching internationally in El Salvador and Ghana.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

BS in Early Childhood Education, MA in Counseling, Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed School Counselor
