I have been teaching and developing teaching materials for about 20 years. I have taught students of all ages and levels, both privately and in class.
I involve students as much as possible and try to engage them. I think the main focus should be on speaking, since I mainly teach ESL. I use questions to promote thinking.
On materials and teaching methodology
My preferred teaching style focuses on the following:
• Giving students a purpose to learn English
• Insisting on the use of target language as much as possible
• Using questions in order to make exercises more relevant
• Trying to make learning English fun
• Letting students work in pairs or small groups
You will find this reflected in most of my worksheets as many focus on speaking and listening, games and pair work. Grammar, however, is never forgotten but incorporated in the materials without making them dull and boring.
Not yet, but who knows
BA, MA in Linguistics
TEFL Certification
Truckload of certificates too boring to mention
I currently live in Thailand and work as a full-time English teacher at a language school. I wish I had more time to do what I like most, namely creating useful ESL materials.
FYI I don't have time to spend hours on Facebook or Pinterest promoting my work, so if you're a fan you could do me a favor by posting, pinning or linking my page to whatever social network might be interested in what I do.

I used to write a blog, but I haven't written much over the last few years. Philip's EFL Blog hasn't been forgotten by the Internet though.
