TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching at the middle school level for ten years. My main teaching assignment has been 8th grade U.S. History. I have also taught 7th grade Geography and 8th grade Language Arts.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is influenced by the Teacher Curriculum Institute's Bring Learning Alive! principles. I use literacy strategies through social studies as much as possible, and pursued a reading endorsement to enhance my teaching. Many of my lessons encourage students to form their own opinions and reactions to history, but with the requirement of evidence/factual information to support their claims.
