TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I became a teacher in 2007 through Teach for America. I've taught in the Los Angeles area since then, although I did dabble my toes in an out-of-classroom position for a short while. However, my great love is teaching and I belong in the classroom! I love teaching middle school students, and have taught all different combinations of subject areas with a Multiple Subjects teaching credential. I'm currently a 6th Grade English Language Arts and Social Science teacher in Redondo Beach Unified School District.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My educational philosophy is deeply rooted in constructivism. My students learn through active experience, investigation, and inquiry. I infuse social justice into the curriculum whenever possible.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I always looked forward to the first day of school! I agonized over picking out school supplies, and played 'Teacher' with my younger sisters (who always told me I took it way to seriously!). I had phenomenal teachers growing up, and was lucky enough to receive an excellent education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I love to read, run, and watch college football!
