TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I started by doing my student teaching in a 6th grade science classroom. I have taught 7th grade Life Science for three years and 8th grade Physical Science for eight years. I have also worked (four years) with students of all ages who have autism in a center-based program and as a home therapist.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a huge supporter of inquiry-based learning. However, I feel it is important for students to be able to read and comprehend informational text as well.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have earned a Bachelor's degree in Biological Anthropology/Zoology and Biopsychology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI and a Master's degree in Education from Oakland University in Rochester, MI.
