Over 12 years teaching experience in and out of the classroom. My main focus has been working with students with special needs. I have taught in inclusion classes, self-contained classes, and life skills classes in grades 3-12.
My teaching style is very individualized for each student's needs. I incorporate the theory of multiple intelligences and brain based strategies. My goal is not only having student's achieve the objective of the lesson, but to help them learn how to think about, connect to and enjoy the learning process.
I was the valedictorian of my graduating class (Winter 1998) from St. Joseph's College in Patchogue, New York.
I received my BA in child study including elementary and special education (birth-age 21) from St. Joseph's College in Patchogue, New York. I earned my Masters in Literacy from C.W. Post, Brentwood, New York. I have my School Building and District Leadership Certification from Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, New York.
I love running and just started doing triathlons last summer. I love to bring movement into the classroom!
