I design units with cross-curricular components, collaboration, and project-based learning. I ask students to be sculptors of their own education, and assist them in creating educational experiences that foster critical thinking and civic engagement.

Originally from Dallas, Texas, I'm an urban high school teacher with a passion for challenging the status quo and making my classroom a home for my students. I've lived in Louisiana and Boston before making my way back to my hometown. I love unit planning and designing projects. When I'm not in the classroom or planning for the classroom, I write slam poetry and slowly work through my Netflix list.
