I have 12 years experience teaching writing, grammar, literature, and reading. For nine of those years, I taught in a 1-1 laptop school where I used technology extensively with my students. Before teaching, I wrote for a parenting magazine, writing articles about education, health, and parenting. My class periods were 45 minutes long—often shorter. I specialize in time-saving activities and resources that cover a lot of content. I also worked for a major educational publisher, marketing language arts and social studies programs.
My favorite quote about educating is from Rita Pierson: “Every child deserves a champion—an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.” As a teacher, I model thinking while reading and writing and color-code everything!
