This is a script based on a Native American story from Southern Louisiana. It is a flood story--why the great flood came and how it was ended. I wrote this as a script for a puppet show, but it would be fine to perform this as a play or reader's

This is a script I adapted for a K-3 classroom, based on a Native American Creek/Muscogee Tribe tale that was re-told by S. E. Schlosser. This was for a puppetry performance the children were doing. Because there were many younger children and

This is a script I wrote for a 4-5 class as a puppet show. This would work just fine as a play or as a reader's theatre script. It is for 7 characters, plus however many narrators you would like. The kids in the class had a lot of fun with this

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a teaching artist. I have a strong background in child development. I have been working as an artist and a theatre artist for several years. Now I am fortunate enough to also teach my art in elementary schools! I teach puppetry to younger children and reader's theatre and drama to the older grades. I hope you enjoy some of the scripts I will be posting as I develop them.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I only come in for short periods of the school day--teachers have me in to teach drama, reader's theatre and puppetry or other visual arts.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I love performance days--seeing the kids shine with the work we have been doing. Other favorite moments: When a K student proudly told me that she was going to be a "puppet lady, too!" when she grows up. Also, watching the quietest, shyest girl turn into the loudest, meanest and most convincing White Witch you could ever imagine in a reader's theatre performance of my script adaptation of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe." It was so amazing!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a BA in Psychology and Theatre from Kalamazoo College.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I also work as a theatre artist in San Francisco. I work as a designer and also as an actor for several companies around the Bay Area.
