TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Certified Music Teacher all grade State of Louisiana, B.M. Ed, Southeastern La. Univ. Taught all levels of music in American Schools since 1991 in Morocco, Nepal, Bolivia, GuanZhou and ShangHai China and in New Orleans and surrounding school systems.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Organized around the Kodaly method as I adapted it to fit the needs of the various American Schools I have taught. In these schools, you teach all levels and you teach to students of various ethnic and cultural groups. I have adapted to many different school systems in my teaching travels. I share most of the Kodaly philosophy and I have adapted the process for use under many different administrations. I try to help teachers find their own way of teaching and can match up teaching styles with learning styles. I like to teach the students how to teach themselves and to help teachers provide fun and meaningful music experiences I especially use the Kodaly break down and classification of the proper order of musical elements for efficient learning and all lessons include the PPP (prepare, present and practice) and critical thinking presentation techniques. The Kodaly breakdown of elements is extremely detailed and covers so much of music. I recommend any that can take at least a level I Kodaly course if you are serious about teaching music, but if not possible, I can help you to fit your experiences into doing your teaching your way.
