I began my teaching career in 1993. I taught special education, specializing in learning disabilities, for 15 years. After that, I was ready for a change, so I moved to fifth grade and taught there for three years. This was followed by five years teaching fourth grade. In 2016, I followed my heart once again and started teaching second grade where I still am today. I have loved all of my roles, and I look forward to learning new ways to challenge myself as an educator and creator.
I teach in a student-centered classroom full of "hands on" learning. I do my best to address the learning styles and needs of all my students.

I graduated from The Ohio State University in 1993 with a degree in Special Education, specializing in teaching students with learning disabilities. Later, I attended Ashland University for my Bachelor's Plus degree in elementary education, and I earned my license to teach grades 1-8. In 2009, I competed my Master Degree from The Ohio State University in Language, Literacy, and Culture. This is my dream degree because I was able to justify completely immersing myself in children's literature as well as learning about all of the unique cultures that contribute to making teaching such an incredibly rewarding job!
