TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I currently teach K-5 elementary music and 5th grade chorus. I also have a home music studio, which teaches piano, voice, sight-reading and theory. I've been a piano player for 15 years and actively play in my community for school, church and local events. Finally, I love learning through workshops, online classes, conferences and seminars.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a hodgepodge of teaching styles. I enjoy using Kodaly, Dalcroze, Feierabend and Orff techniques in my classroom. My students are always active, through movement activities and dances. I also love incorporating children's literature, reading, writing and cross-curriculum connections in music class.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have received numerous DonorsChoose.org projects to bring new experiences in music to my students.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor of Music Education from Simpson College in general music, vocal and instrumental music.
