I am in my seventh year teaching and have taught 5th, 2nd, and 3rd grades. There's something special about the curiosity, confidence, and excitement of 3rd graders, which is where I currently hang my hat.
I believe lessons should be FUN, interactive, and memorable. I plan my lessons to incorporate various methods of instruction, movement, and group activities to reinforce the week's learning. I build in time for classroom community and character building each week because I'm passionate about growing global citizens!

Master of Arts in Teaching: Curriculum and Instruction (K-6) Carson-Newman University (Jefferson City, TN) Bachelor of Arts, Ouachita Baptist University (Arkadelphia, AR)
I currently reside in Denver, Colorado where I teach third grade at a public magnet school for GT/HGT students. A highlight of my educational journey has been the six months my husband and I spent living in Uganda, where I worked as a teacher mentor and education consultant at a rural primary school. My love of international travel plays a big role in developing my classroom culture and instruction. I have visited schools in India, China, Afghanistan, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Uganda, and South Africa. I love gathering inspiration from teachers worldwide!
