I am entering my fifth year of teaching (2018). I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades. There's something special about the curiosity, confidence, and excitement of third graders, which is where my classroom currently resides.
I believe lessons should be FUN, interactive, and memorable. I plan my lessons to incorporate various methods of instruction, movement, and group activities. I frequently use centers or workshop models to reinforce the week's learning.

After a few years away, my husband and I have recently returned to the beauty of Colorado where I teach third grade at a magnet school for GT/HGT students within Denver Public Schools. I spent six months living in Uganda working as a teacher mentor and education consultant to a rural primary school. My love of international travel plays a big role in developing my classroom culture and instruction. I have visited schools in India, China, Afghanistan, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Uganda, and South Africa. I love gathering ideas from teachers worldwide!
