TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught 5th grade for 15 years, specializing in math. I currently teach 5th and 6th grade math to 5th graders. I am a national award winning/nationally recognized math teacher by the President.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I create a student-centered, technology-rich, hands-on, project-based learning environment in which my students feel free to take risks, try new things, explore, push their limits, while laughing and having fun. I love for my students to be on the move and as active as possible, engaging in math conversations as they work collaboratively.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

2002 District First Year Teacher of the Year; 2009 SMART Exemplary Educator; 2009 Campus Teacher of the Year; 2010 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching, Texas Math Winner

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

University of North Texas

Mommy to a preschooler and Kindergartener and math teacher to 100+ preteens. I teach 5th and 6th grade math to my marvelous 5th grade mathematicians. I am a self-professed math nerd and love to make learning fun and silly!
