I previously worked in a daycare setting for 3 1/2 years while working towards my elementary education goals. Then I worked at First Steps while finishing my bachelors degee in elementary education. I have been teaching students with moderate/severe disabilities for 2 1/2 years. Students with special needs is where my heart is. I work 9 to 12 hour days in order to make sure my students are recieving content along with everything else they need to become independent individuals.
I have a diverse teaching style - meaning that my style changes daily right along with my students. I am very hands on and believe that tactile learning is best for my students. Being able to feel an items brings it to life in the real world.
My classroom has been chosen to be an Autism Training Model Site.
I hold an Associate's in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education, Director's Credential, Early Childhood Administrative Certificate, a Bachelor's in Elementary Education, Master's in Learning and Behavior Disorders, as well as a Master's in Moderate/Severe Disabilities.
I have been married for 21 years and have a beautiful 17 year old daughter. My passion lies within being an advocate for those you cannot adovate for themselves.
