TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently in my 14th year of teaching. I have always wanted to be a teacher. In fact, when I was little I would play school with my little sister and my mother said that I taught her how to read before she even went to kindergarten! I have taught in private and public schools. I have taught 1st grade, 2nd grade and preschool. Currently I am teaching 3rd grade. I always tell my students in 3rd grade that 3rd grade is the wonderful time when they are no longer learning to read, but reading to learn!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am passionate about reading. I hope to instill in all of my students the need to be a life long reader. I also feel that the relationship piece is the most important part of the teacher/student relationship.
