TEACHING EXPERIENCE

2015 - 2016 will begin my 5th year teaching! I began my teaching career as a student teacher in the first grade, where I FELL IN LOVE with primary grades. I then had my own classroom as a second grade teacher, then on to third grade. After a big move from North Carolina to California, I worked as a Reading Interventionist for 1-3 grades, and now I'm back teaching 2nd grade! Primary grades hold my heart.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love a noisy classroom where students are working in groups to develop their leadership, conversations and collaboration skills. Students in my class are self-directed and responsible for their own learning. I set them up for empowerment and success!
