TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Over a period of more than 20 years, I taught children in a regular classroom (every grade K-12!) and also taught deaf education. I have also been a teacher at the junior college level, teaching classes that included art, writing, and grammar. When I was not physically in the classroom, I wrote curriculum for major textbook companies. Today I write curriculum full time.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My job as a teacher is to encourage and exhort, to make the child want to learn. With some children, this is a tall order and requires finding that one thing that is "worth" the effort for them.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Published curriculum with several textbook companies including The Princeton Review, Group Publishing, SureScore, Anthology (for their client Scott Foresman), and Schawk (for their client Learning Resources). My own book, Taking Hearing Impairment to School, is distributed by the Guidance Channel.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor of Science and Masters courses in Learning Disabilities.
