I taught 4th grade for four years before staying home with my baby girl for a year and a half. In 2012 I returned to the school where I'd been teaching, this time in the role of a Math Coach. I love serving in this role because it allows me the opportunity to work closely with both students AND teachers.
I believe that students learn best by DOING! I am an energetic individual and I love planning engaging lessons for students that involve problem-solving, the use of manipulatives, collaboration among students, and activities that get the students up and moving. I hold very high expectations for every student and expect them to grow by leaps and bounds, both as students and individuals, throughout the course of a school year.
I received the VITAL Award (an award given to a different staff member every month) during the 2011-2012 school year.
I graduated from Michigan State University in 2006 with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a minor in English.
I have been married to my husband Jacob for 9 years. We have two beautiful children, Becca (who will be three next month) and Zach (4 months old). I am passionate about my family, teaching, and serving Christ in all areas of my life!
