TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a secondary English teacher in New York City schools for over five years. I currently work at one of New York's most prestigious high schools, where I teach American Literature as well as freshman English.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to encourage students to express themselves creatively, while also using text-based evidence to support their ideas. I try to incorporate the arts into my curriculum whenever possible, and I teach a lot of plays and dramatic literature. However, I also need to prepare students for the NYS Regents exams as well as other standardized assessments, and so my goal is to build skills in the most engaging way possible.
