TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for almost four years. My experience has included teaching 5th grade as well as middle school mathematics. I currently work at an International Baccalaureate school teaching 5th grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Teaching at an IB school has really molded my role as a facilitator in the classroom. I rely on data to drive my instruction as well as to set goals with my students. Students set their own high expectations and understand what learning is required for all standards.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have co-authored an article titled "Common Core State Standards: Rubrics to Evaluate Student Proficiency in Fifth Grade Mathematics" in the Washington State Kappan, Volume 8, Number 1, Winter 2014 Issue.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I earned my Bachelors and Masters of Education through Central Washington University with an Elementary and Reading Endorsement with a Math emphasis.
