I have been teaching for 6 years. I began by teaching high school Spanish in Memphis, TN. Wanting to play a larger role in developing students' literacy skills, I transitioned to middle school ELA. I continue to teach ELA today, as well as English as a Second Language.
I love to engage students in rigorous texts. I mostly use novels in my classroom. I find that this facilitates engagement and discussion in class.
