TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for the past five years. I started out as a Reading Tutor part time. I quickly moved my way to a Reading/Language Arts teacher for seventh graders. I taught seventh grade for three years and then moved down to an elementary school in the same district to teach sixth grade Language Arts. I have been in the same district for the past four years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love to have my students read like writers and write like readers. It is very important to me that students work in collaborative groups which I feel allows them to learn so much more. I think allowing students to work together and learn together is very important. I use a lot of reading and writing groups in my classroom. My students peer review one another's writing and continuously work hard to help one another be the best readers and writers that they can be.
