TEACHING EXPERIENCE

High school English teacher in Chesterfield County, Chesterfield, VA. Teaching English in the IT magnet and advising yearbook. High school English in Stafford County, Virginia for 20+ years as an English and journalism teacher. English Methods portion of teacher preparedness courses at the graduate school of education at University of Mary Washington.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like structure, direction, and organization. I believe if, after instruction and conferencing, a student walks away and says, "I have no idea what to do," then I have failed. I like to NOT be the hardest worker in the room. To that end, I try to create assignments and assessments that create opportunities for self-learning both through the assignment and evaluation.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT
