I have been teaching English as a second or foreign language for about the last decade. I started by teaching English kindergarten in South Korea. Then, I completed my MA in TESOL and taught academic English to international students at a university in the US. After about seven years of teaching there, I moved to Japan to teach university students academic English there. I have quite a lot of experience teaching English speaking skills, so many of my materials center on them. I am currently not in the classroom, but I hope to share my experience and love of creating learning materials with teachers here!
I like to try to adapt my teaching style to my learners' needs. I see my primary role in the language classroom as being a facilitator and resource for students as they build English skills. My materials often include scaffolded review of vocabulary and useful language structures, structured practice with sentence frames or other guides, and then less-structured or more free practice. They also include teaching notes for instructors to use when implementing the products with their students.
