I have 5 years of experience in middle school education, particularly with at-risk youth and ESL students, as well as over 8 years of experience working with youth. I have certifications for ELAR for grades 4-12, ESL, am a certified Apple Teacher, and have interned as a lecturer for undergraduate English courses. More recently, I have also developed English curriculum that has been used district-wide and have developed a Small Business Management course complete with both teaching and learning material.
I believe in a holistic approach to education that actively challenges students to use literature as a lens for self-reflection in the hopes that over the course of the year students will not only become stronger academically, but become well-rounded individuals.
