Hi, I’m Rebecca Ford and I am the creator of EnLanguages.com. I have been a World Language Educator since 1994 and since then, I have enjoyed teaching Spanish to countless numbers of students at various levels of education. I have also had the pleasure of playing many other roles within the education system. Here are a few career highlights: Spanish teacher to students in grades 2-12, community college and university; AP Spanish Language and Culture teacher; Curriculum and program designer for elementary and middle school Spanish programs; Mentor to first and second-year foreign language teachers; World Language Chair Person; World Language Portfolio Scorer for Connecticut’s teacher certification program; Private Spanish Tutor
I love, love, love technology and I try to incorporate it into my daily lessons as much as possible. I also believe in the power of movies when delivering curriculum and I have been using movies in Spanish as well as other Spanish media since the beginning of my career to expose students to real world Spanish, cultural norms, current events and historical information. My classes are high energy and I have the kids interacting with each other as much as possible through games, skits and other activities. I like to keep the environment fun and engaging with lots of visuals, music and videos. I squeeze a lot of language into a class via various vehicles. Currently I teach in a county that has gone to proficiency based learning, so I am embracing this methodology, and incorporating some of my traditional methods with it.
