TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently a 4th grade magnet teacher in Washington County, Maryland. I have taught 4th grade in North Carolina and Maryland, and was previously a library media specialist for 2 years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in student-centered education that allows students to take control of their own learning. In my classroom students are responsible for meeting the demands of various learning tasks that guide them to the understanding they require to meet their individual goals. My students work collaboratively much of the time and are required to transfer their knowledge in creative and original ways to authentic, real-world scenarios.
