I have taught lots of different things but my focus has always been in literacy. I began my career as a high school English teacher then went on to teach middle school language arts, digital literacy, and work as an administrator at a small Montessori school while I got my Master's in Reading. I have been a Reading Specialist ever since and have loved working with a wide range of students from first grade up through 8th grade. I teach phonics, blending, beginning reading, comprehension, fluency, close reading techniques, and reading strategies in my small groups. Recently, I started adding a stronger focus on writing to my curriculum and to that end I have uploaded many writing prompts for students.
I try to be fun while being assertive and maintaining high expectations.

I liked school and reading when I was younger but when I got into high school something changed and I lost track. It took reading a couple of really great books to get me going again and passionate about reading and learning.
