TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I started my teaching career as a part time long term ESL substitute. I was in this position for 3 years. For the first 2 years I taught at the high school level (9-12). In the 3rd year I was hired as a part time Spanish teacher in the same district so I was teaching ESL and Spanish at the Middle School level (6-8). Now I am only teaching Middle School Spanish.

MY TEACHING STYLE

We do not use textbooks in our language department so everything that I use in class, I have created or borrowed from others. I like my students to be using the language as much as possible so I have them doing many partner and small group activities. Even when introducing new vocabulary or grammar points the students are active in their learning.
