Erin is school teacher and artist living in Long Sault, Ontario. Erin graduated from the University of Ottawa with an Honors degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts. She specialized in drawing/painting with a fascination in portraits. Today, art plays a large role in Erin’s every day life- she has a small paint party business, sells her original paintings, and is planning to display her artwork in upcoming gallery shows. Recently, Erin has shifted her artistic focus to illustrate the characters in her book, Maggie the Magnificent. Maggie the Magnificent is Erin’s first published book, but it will not be the last. Erin has written short stories and novels since she was a young child. In elementary school, authors such as Robert Munsch, Dr. Suess, and Roald Dahl were some of her childhood idols. Erin had adventures of her own that she wanted to share, so she started to write stories, herself. After graduation, Erin became an elementary school teacher so that she could be surrounded by books all day. Erin currently teaches Kindergarten and strives to inspire her students to love reading the way she did as a child. Although at times she feels like Ms. Frizzle with her wild avant-garde lessons, she adores her students and tends to draw upon memorable classroom moments for her writing. It is also through childhood stories that she addresses important topics, such as bullying, inclusion, and anxiety within the classroom setting. Erin states that no matter how subtle or small these issues may appear, they occur in every classroom, and it is crucial that they do not go unheard. During her spare time, you can find Erin playing in her band ‘The Lee Sisters” on sunny restaurant patios. Erin also enjoys competing in duathlon/triathlons and plans to complete her first marathon next year. Above all, Erin enjoys spending time with her wonderful family- her loving Mom and Dad, her two supportive sisters, and her old, darling black cat. Erin's book, "Maggie the Magnificent" can be purchased on Amazon.ca and Amazon.com!
