At the beginning of my teaching career, I taught PreK for 2 years, and I was a Title 1 interventionist for a year after. However, for the past 9 years I have taught fourth grade in both South Mississippi and Texas.
I teach based on research.

Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, I grew up in suburban Atlanta. After graduating from the University of Georgia (UGA), I moved to Austin, Texas, for some life experience, where I met my husband. I moved to South Mississippi in 2006 when my mom was diagnosed with cancer. I married my husband in 2008, and we welcomed our daughter in 2011. We also have an adorable Boston Terrier/Chihuahua dog named Wally. After completing my graduate degree from the University of South Alabama (USA) during the summer of 2014, we moved back to the Austin area.
