I'm in my third year as a TEFL teacher in Santiago, Chile! I studied Education at the University of Memphis, and upon my graduation decided to move to Chile to teach English! I teach adult professional who want to improve their conversational skills, writing skills, or need to brush up on grammar and vocabulary. I also teach students preparing to take the TOEFL and IELTS tests. Additionally, I teach private classes to students K-12. These lessons range from tutoring and homework help to personalized lesson plans to improve vocabulary and grammar.
I teach grammar with a very formulaic approach. I use this style because I teach in a country where large companies and institutes have convinced students that learning English is almost impossible and can only be achieved through spending large amounts of money. With this simplistic approach, students feel in control and confident enough to approach the risks that ELLs have to take in order to progress.

I earned a B.S.Ed at the University of Memphis, where I graduated cum laude in 2012. Later that year, I completed an intensive TEFL/TESOL program called IDELT at Bridge Linguatec in Santiago, Chile. I have a minor in Spanish from the University of Memphis and had the opportunity to study abroad at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso in Valparaíso, Chile in 2010.
I love teaching because I feel that I'm not simply helping people. Instead, I'm showing them how to develop tools that they will be able to use themselves to shape their lives and futures. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, visiting wineries, reading, traveling, horseback riding, and camping. I also love martial arts and football!
