TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 23 years of experience teaching English as a Second Language to adults and children at several private and public schools in Florida, New York, Italy and Brazil. I was born and raised in New York City. My mother is from Rome, Italy and my father is from Havana, Cuba so I grew up in a multicultural family. I also speak Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My passion is to help students achieve their language goals by focusing on their unique interests. I create my lessons based on whatever skill the individual student needs the most. In addition to my enthusiasm, I like to make learning English fun and interesting.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

One of the best honors I received from my students (a married couple from Brazil) was a round-trip airline ticket to Brazil with all expenses paid for a 3 week vacation! This was a "thank you for teaching us English for one year" gift from my students! I was so grateful for this wonderful surprise!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor of Arts Degree in Foreign Languages from City University of New York - Hunter College. Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language from The New School University in New York City.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

My hobbies and interests include travel, photography, reading, foreign languages and cultures, cooking, bicycle riding and long walks with my 2 Beagles.
