I have been teaching English since 2015. I specialize in teaching grammar and reading. I have experience in making grammar books for young learners and worked on various worksheets for CLIL and phonics lessons. I am currently teaching English to adults. My lessons are mostly focused on speaking and listening. I create handouts for every lesson.
I ask a lot of questions during the lesson and elicit every answer from students. This makes my lessons student-centered and helps reduce "teacher talking time." I listen carefully to what students are saying while leaving a note on the board and correct their common mistakes in feedback. I always prepare cue cards or pictures to help students understand the vocabulary. The cue cards can be reused as having class activities. I like to have a fun and communicative lesson; yet organized.
I got a CELTA certificate in June, 2017. I took a 4-week intensive training course in British Study Centre located in Oxford, the U.K. I taught several ESL classes of different levels and nationalities as a trainee teacher.
I have a Bachelor's degree in business. I was not majoring in English but I had studied English in Korea since I was 5. I also learned English as a foreign language so I can fully understand the difficulties that students can encounter in learning.
I love teaching and getting to know people. It is always challenging and motivating for me to meet different people from around the world.
