I have worked in Asia for 10 years and currently In Hong Kong as an English teacher in a Hong Kong Primary school I teach English to primary age children and try to do so in a way that inspires them to step away from the text book and take what they learn outside the classroom. you can see more on our Facebook page below https://www.facebook.com/ESLPS/
Lots of free things at the moment, so please try to leave feedback if you like them and message me if you think i can improve them. thank you!! I want to teach students to explore the world around them and to find the answers to their questions themselves. I believe in skill teaching as more or at least equal to knowledge teaching and try to provide conditions where my students learn from themselves and not just from me. I encourage the things we try in class to be taken outside of a classroom environment and to be shown and tried with friends and family in the belief that the students own motivation will drive their knowledge and studies. In an ESL environment i believe this is challenging but not insurmountable and what i upload will be the successful lessons and resources i have produced.I hope they can help others. Science is one such way, but i will be sharing other ideas as well. I teaching reading to key stage two and will be uploading some of the successful lessons, activities and resources i have created in my time here. I hope they are useful as well. I will try to make all my resources editable so if you don't like or want to change you are welcome to do so! You know your students best and you can adapt these ideas or tasks to anyway you think it best. If you have any problems, spot any mistakes or have any requests or questions please drop me an email, just like my students I am learning all the time!
Deans list and honour student list - Hong Kong Institute of Education More importantly having a parent of a little 7 year old girl come up to me to say they were late for dinner as they had given her the phone to play with in the back of the car on the way and she had downloaded google sky map because we were reading about space. She spotted Venus and Jupiter in the sky and made her whole family stop the car so they could see them. It was the first time her parents and her had ever seen a planet with their own eyes.
