TEACHING EXPERIENCE

After teaching first grade for several years, I entered the field of adult education at The Boeing Company. I developed and taught the first ESL class at Boeing. The students were delightful and I learned a great deal from them. I knew they were "thrown for a loop" when confronted with our American idioms and slang. I jotted down words and phrases for the next 15 years. Finally, at 5,000 words and phrases and 500 pages, I was ready to publish. My book is on Amazon.com.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Write lesson plans and have clear objectives for each lesson. Then, be ready to answer any question that might arise and work individually with any student having a difficult time grasping the subject matter. My desire is to have the student feel relaxed and desirous of having a great learning experience.

I attended Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon for two years, and finished my degree in Education at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon.

While I was at The Boeing Company in Seattle, Washington, I created and taught Customer Service Excellence, Applying Creativity to Problem Solving, and Memory Development. I also taught Project Management and managed a web site on Customer Service.
