I am an ESOL instructor and academic coordinator with nearly 20 years of experience teaching every level of English and many different special purposes classes in private language schools, university-based Intensive English programs, and continuing education programs in the United States and Mexico. I also have extensive experience as a volunteer ESOL tutor in public elementary schools. This volunteer work inspired my Rockwall English series!
I believe in personalizing interactive lessons to engage students in learning.

Years of truly rewarding volunteer experience in adult education, literacy, and language tutoring and a lifetime of involvement in the visual arts led me to the career of teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). I completed a Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) and received a master’s degree in education with a TESOL focus. Since that time, I have worked at both private and public language institutes in the US and Mexico. My work in the classroom and my own language-learning experiences have reinforced my belief that language-learning happens most effectively when all of the senses, especially the visual, are engaged in the process.
