TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This will be my third year as a special education teacher. Working in a 3rd-5th grade self-contained classroom, I constantly find myself spending hours and hours adapting the curriculum and materials to meet the individual needs of my students. Since I know first-hand that these activities are successful in a classroom, I thought it would be helpful to share them with other teachers. Not only are these products perfect for a special education classroom, but they will also benefit young learners in the general education classroom as well.

MY TEACHING STYLE

STRUCTURE, STRUCTURE, STRUCTURE! This is so important in my special education classroom. My room is color-coded with visual schedules and reminders throughout. We run on a schedule that has the students rotating stations every 15 minutes. Once laminated, these products provide hands-on learning that can be used and re-used to reinforce different learning concepts.
