Welcome to my site, Teachers! As a 27 year veteran teacher, now retired, I can truly say that since I started teaching in the 60s, it has been the greatest experience of my life. I taught art, reading, math and special education to elementary to and secondary students. What a grand adventure it was ! I have been creating Multi-Subject/Multi-Grade Art Units and All-Subject Lessons for many years. Since there wasn't much help around back then, I saved and updated the best ones and, now, (thanks to TPT) I can share them with other teachers! Finally, at 64, I retired(only because I became disabled). But I now enjoy playing with grandchildren, writing stories and books, and painting. Some of my books appear in My Store here on TPT. My advice to you young, beginning teachers: "Jump in with both feet, and come along for the ride- if the teacher enjoys helping students learn, the students will love you and your classes. You will be blessed and well rewarded with happy memories when you retire!" HAPPY TEACHING!!! Evelyn Hilton (The Art Granny)
My teaching style was simply: Be fair and firm, find something to like about every student and listen for clues to help you guide them. Remember, in addition to a good lesson, you and your class need at least one good laugh a day to make school enjoyable!
